About Screen Replacement

A cracked, shattered, or severely pressure-damaged TV panel cannot be repaired — the LCD or OLED matrix itself is broken, and no amount of board-level work will restore the display. The only solution is full panel replacement.

Screen replacement is the most expensive category of TV repair. Panel costs are significant, and for many older or mid-range televisions, the panel replacement cost can approach or exceed the TV's practical resale value. We are direct about this during the assessment process.

That said, for newer, larger, or premium televisions, replacement can absolutely be cost-effective. A 65-inch or 75-inch television that cost ₹60,000–₹1,00,000 may well justify a panel replacement if the electronics are otherwise sound.

Our Assessment Process

1
Damage Assessment

We examine the extent of the panel damage, confirm that no other components were damaged in the same incident, and identify the exact panel part number.

2
Panel Sourcing Check

We check availability and current pricing for the replacement panel. For many models, panels are available from reliable suppliers. Some older or less common models may have limited panel availability.

3
Cost vs. Value Discussion

We provide a written quote and discuss the repair cost relative to the TV's approximate current value. We do not proceed without your explicit agreement on cost.

4
Panel Replacement & Calibration

Once approved, the replacement panel is installed following manufacturer-level disassembly procedures. After installation, we run display calibration and full input testing before returning the TV.

Important: We never recommend or proceed with screen replacement without first confirming panel availability and providing a written cost estimate. If we believe the cost is disproportionate to the TV's value, we will say so.

When Replacement Is Typically Worthwhile

  • Large screen TVs (50 inches and above) that are 3–5 years old or newer
  • Premium brand televisions with original purchase price above ₹40,000
  • Cases where panel replacement cost is less than 50% of the TV's current replacement value
  • Small or mid-range sets where the panel cost approaches or exceeds the TV's resale value — replacement is usually not recommended in these cases
